Do you understand how many steps you are taking each day? I didn’t really think much of it until I came upon this text. Research now indicates that walking a minimum of 10,000 steps per day will cut your risk of developing certain diseases/conditions.
Now,most of us are fairly active person and spend plenty of
your time chasing a toddler round the house all day long. I attempt to walk my
dog a minimum of just the once per day and take a protracted walk on my own at
nighttime. Even with all of this, i used to be barely hitting my 10k mark! No
wonder it's so hard for the common person to satisfy this goal. during a study
by the American Institute for Cancer Research, middle aged women had a median
step count of but 5000 per day! this can be just the average—imagine how few
steps most sedentary woman are getting?
So where does one rank?
Your beginning (no pun intended!) is to induce yourself a
pedometer. Chart your daily steps for a minimum of three days so challenge
yourself to extend your steps on a daily basis. Keep a notebook or a running
tally of what your steps are for the week so you'll be able to ensure that you
just a minimum of average 10k per day.
Here are my numbers for the past 3 days:
Tuesday: 6588
Monday: 12788 (yay!)
Sunday: 7892
As you'll see, I didn’t meet my goal on Sunday, so therefore I'm
visiting ensure to exceed my goal today, whether or not meaning hopping on the
treadmill tonight after the youngsters attend sleep.
Here are some ideas to assist you increase your daily steps:
- Park your car within the farthest corner of the parking zone
- If possible, leave your car reception and walk to figure or the shop
- Skip the elevator or escalator and take the steps whenever possible
- Don’t use the remote, rise up and alter the channel instead
- Walk the dog a minimum of once daily. Not only is it good for you, it’s good for the dog too!
- Find a walking buddy and make a date to steer every day
- If the weather is bad, opt for a walk at your local mall. Just don’t get distracted by all the sales!
