As
much as we all love summer, the constant heat and sunshine can be a pain when
you have to deal with oily skin, acne, limp hair, sweaty armpits, and the like.
Looking well-groomed in the heat isn’t an easy task for sure!
If
you are worried about facing the heat this summer, you needn’t fear because
help is at hand. Here are 8 easy summer grooming tips to help you look your
best no matter how high the temperatures soar.
No Stepping Out without Sunscreen
SUNSCREEN is indispensable in summers as you’ll be spending most
of the time outdoors. Exposing your facial and body skin to bright and intense
sunlight for prolonged periods can cause sunburn and can damage your skin. Sweating in summers can
also cause fungal infections on the skin.
Choose a sunscreen that has a high SPF (sun protection
factor) and provides protection from both UV rays {ultraviolet rays}. Apply
sunscreen before heading out in the sun. Do remember to re-apply it at regular
intervals of time, sunscreen tends to wear off easily. If you’re going to the
beach or the pool, re-apply more frequently.

Keep Hair
Trimmed
Choose a wise hairstyle for summers. If you have long hair,
you can always tie them up when you feel the heat getting to you. However,
you’ll still have to take care of your locks. On the other hand, a short crop
will keep you feeling cool all through the day and you won’t even have to spend
a lot of time shampooing and conditioning your hair. Too much facial hair in
summers also causes itching and sweating on the face and sometimes rashes on
the neck too.
The same applies to your beard and mustache; too much facial
hair can be tough to manage in the heat. Your skin will be putting up with a
lot when temperatures soar and you don’t want to damage it further by shaving
every day. Stick to shaving twice a week and trimming when need be.

Don’t
Skip the Moisturizer
Just because it’s hot
and humid doesn’t mean you don’t need to moisturize your skin. Of course, you
needn’t use heavy winter creams in summer; they will leave your skin greasy.
What’s more, they’ll wipe right off with your sweat without doing your skin any
good.
Look
for moisturizers with light formulas that get easily absorbed into your skin
and keep it hydrated without giving you an oily sheen. Oils on body and facial
skin in summers can cause irritation and itching.

Cleanse
Daily
Keep in mind that
men’s skin is oilier by nature so you’ll have to take extra care of it. Your
day should start and end by cleansing your face to get rid of all pollutants. Cleansing
your skin daily helps it look fresh and makes it less prone to breakouts.
Use
a gel face wash that is free of dyes, artificial fragrances, soaps, and alcohol
so that your skin doesn’t dry out.

Nothing
Beats a Shower
When
it comes to dealing with body odor! If you happen to perspire a lot, a daily
shower is a must. You might need to shower more than once a day if you perform
vigorous exercise. Showering right after your workout will help wash away sweat
and prevent your skin from breaking out.
Just
wash your chest, armpits, genitals, and feet thoroughly as these areas produce
more sweat and are responsible for body odor. Sweating may cause infections on
the skin.
